Once upon a time, there lived a poor woodcutter in a village. He was very honest. One day, he was cutting wood near a river. Suddenly, his axe fell into the river. He began to cry. A fairy appeared before him. She showed him a golden axe. The woodcutter said, “It is not my axe.” Then the fairy showed him a silver axe. He again said, “It is not my axe.” Finally, the fairy showed him an iron axe. The woodcutter said, “It is my axe.” The fairy was very pleased with his honesty. She gave him all three axes as a reward. The woodcutter went home happily. Moral: Honesty is the best policy.
